David Backler and Siena Mia – Teachers of this series

David and Mia performing at Salamanca Market

David and Mia bring with them a wealth of knowledge in the culture of the true tango dance and music from Buenos Aires.  In 2010 David was awarded the title “Tango Ambassador” by Argentinian Embassy.  Sidewalktango has performed tango shows in Buenos Aires, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and taught Tango professionally in Buenos Aires, going on to become leaders in the introduction and development of Tango across Australia and New Zealand.

Their vast experience is coupled with a teaching style that can share the joy of tango and to putting across to new beginners the essence of the art form: easily, with class, and without compromise.

Now they have arrived in Tasmania to settle, live, and work here, and we are thrilled to have them bring this series of lessons for Tasmanian Club de Tango.
