New committee has agreed to a new membership structure. The membership year aligns with the financial year, 1st July to 30th June. Following feedback from members and through the survey we recently conducted, the committee has decided to set a new membership fee of $20 for the full financial year.
This year, due to COVID-19, the committee decided to extend last years memberships until the end of October. The new committee has also decided to offer a reduced membership for the balance of this financial year of $10. This fee is for the period 1st November 2020 to the 30th June 2021.
The milonga held on October 2, following the AGM, was the first to be held since the closure of all activities due to COVID-19 in March this year. After much discussion and research a COVID safe plan was constructed and implemented. This involved ensuring contact details of all participants was collected, a screening tool was completed and space restrictions adhered to.
The overall response was very positive from those that attended. It seemed that the opportunity to dance again even with these restrictions in place was enthusiastically embraced. Thank you Peter for a great playlist.
Feedback received following the night was all positive including a request to hold a further Milonga before the border reopens. We may not achieve this but hope to hold another before the flow of visitors reaches our events.
